2022 Elections
Shenandoah Lodge will conduct camp promotions and unit elections between 10 January-1 April, 2022. NO elections will be held after this window. A unit may only hold one election each year.
Scheduling
Unit Leaders will receive auto-generated emails from LodgeMaster, starting 3 January, to schedule unit elections. The emails will continue until the election is scheduled.
Coordination will occur between unit leader and CPUE team.
Elections can be completed virtually or in-person.
Eligibility: https://oa-bsa.org/about/membership
Call Outs
Election results will be shared the night of the election. An auto-generated email will go out to all elected Ordeal Candidates after the unit election, regardless if the candidate was present or not.
VAHC Districts may choose to host a call out event after all District elections have been completed (during April & May). The call outs can be incorporated into existing District events (including Round Table meetings), or as a standalone event.
Unit Leader Role Prior to the Election
Unit Leaders will receive auto-generated emails from LodgeMaster, starting 3 January, to schedule unit elections. The emails will continue until the election is scheduled.
Coordination for the election will occur between unit leader and CPUE team.
Prior to election, the unit leader will confirm eligibility requirements are met and will provide names and information for eligible candidates to the CPUE team. The unit leader will receive a link from LodgeMaster to provide this information once the election has been scheduled.
The elected Scouts will be called out after the votes are counted.
Holding the Election
- Only approved/trained Lodge CPUE Teams can run a unit election. Arrowmen can support, but will not conduct CPUE for their home unit.
- Elections can be completed virtually or in-person.
- At least 50% of unit (registered Scouts) must be present in order to hold the election.
- Those being elected do NOT need to be present (does not impact eligibility)
- All elections must be conducted by the OA lodge of the council in which the unit is chartered. No unit may visit outside its council and hold an OA unit election under the auspices of the OA lodge of another council.
Adult Nominations
If a unit elects youth, the unit may nominate adult(s). Following the unit election information being recorded in LodgeMaster, the unit leader will receive an email to submit the individual(s). Unit leaders, please fill out the form in its entirety. The Lodge Key 3 and Inductions Adviser will review all adult nominations.
(Adult eligibility is similar to youth, for more details, go to: https://oa-bsa.org/about/membership
